Second thing you asked about GDA. Ah yes unluckily I'm not in Korea now and can't figure out this rumor. I don't work for GDA organization, so that don't rely much on my words :) . One thing I can see that all the fans want their idols to win the Daesang award so badly, which makes each award become a real fan-war/battle. Its the same for almost awards all over the world. We should take it easy and make all effords on supporting your idols
I can see people saying GDA changes (rumor) is supposed to let SNSD win this year. I don't know when those people will stop their insane presumption. What the GDA organization is doing is their own business, not related or affected by SM이 or anyone else. SM이 does not have power to do that. If the idols can't get the award, it means they lose to others because they don't have as many points/judges/supports from people as others. In SM이 , we not only judge idols on the awards they bring, but also on the money/return/income they bring to the company. The awards can help them gain the fame,money and many things, but it's not everything we need. You know what I mean.
About the GDA changes rumor, I talk a little about it. The changes (if possible) will not affect on SM이 at all. SNSD,DBSK,BoA,Shinee,Super Junior or any SM이 other artists get the award, it is good for us. All of them are our artists and we no need spend much time on arguing about this issue . But I know this is your issue because you want SNSD to win this award. It is really appreciated. Music industry changes continuously, so some award organizations have to change along with, to be suitable to the music market. That is a normal rule. Kpop now is much different compared with 3,4 years ago and some awards in Korea have to change their rule. I'm not surprised if GDA changes their rule. People set the rule, and they have the right to change it. Even USUK Grammy award has changed their rules so many times along with time passing by, so Korean GDA also can do that, no one dares to complain about the rule. GDA award is from Government and all of us should respect their decision. Today, Korean Government invests much into our culture projects and Kpop is one of things that Government encourages. GDA is one of the most famous Award in Korea and held in Osaka, which means Kpop is spreading everywhere. They wanna get more attention from international public about Korean music industry. Next few years,SM이 has many plans to expand our artists' activities and company's fame to oversea market. This is the smart move to survive in music market while Kpop is small for the long-term growth. This year we will also attend MAMA from Mnet. I'm invited to this event too :) . Every Korean award tends to be held overseas you can see. It helps the organizations gain much more attention and money from sponsors.
Next is SNSD physical sales for The Boys. I'm happy when hearing of news that over 200,000 albums are sold during 2 weeks. It is amazing you know. In Korea idols hardly obtain this amazing sales. 100,000 albums sold for one year is for almost idols' target in Korea, but SNSD is over expected. For the 1st week, our pre-order numbers for The Boys about 600,000 copies and now we are producing more. We've learned an experience from Super Junior 5th album. This time SNSD makes me more surprised. They do a good job really, Koreans really love the girls. According to the expectation, in the end of Nov to mid of Dec, over 350,000 copies are sold , excluding repackaged album which is released next 3 weeks. We are busy now to prepare the release of SNSD's US debut single coming near in US. Hope that the US single will do a good job too. The girls will meet US fans again very soon. I have confidence on them.
Don't worry much about KBS' Music Bank K-chart. The story I've discussed with you before proves that KBS is so random and their system always have risk to change whenever they want. The key point is that they always change the system counting at SNSD's comeback time. KBS is afraid that a particular artist will appropriate their chart for a long time, specially SNSD, so they changed and now with new counting system, idols hardly reach more than 3 times K-chart. Last time, SNSD got 9 times K-chart with Gee although SM이 and KBS had serious arguements previously because we did not let DBSK perform in their year-end special event. KBS then banned all SM이 artists from performing on Music Bank and changed counting system again to prevent our artists get many K-charts by adding more "Sales album" point column into their system. Moreover, they cheated in counting SNSD points of Genie. They subtracted many points of SNSD's Genie and as result, SNSD lost to 2ne1. I was one of people being assigned to talk with them when they released a program/news talking bad about SM이 (related to SBS news). Then we must arrange a private Gulfstream 550 instantly for SNSD flying from Japan to Korea to perform on KBS special show. But they still had problem with SM이's artists, because then f(x) also be cheated by KBS in point counting and lost Kchart to 2PM. Personally, I don't appreciate K-chart. It is random and make fans tired.
Today they change again and things are also related to SNSD without any surprise. I've told you before that KBS may change counting again and it comes true. KBS also wants to cut off any point that fan can handle. For example, SM이's idols have big fandoms and album sales point is always high. They cut off the album sales point, so fans cannot have much influence on K-chart. After then, mobile download (a part of digital point), customer mobile services (ringtone, streaming operation,...) also are affected by fandom being cut-off by KBS also. They cut all the way that fans can interfere their result. All things we can do is buying more and more albums, using more mobile services of The Boys. Noted that fans can't do anything with digital charts (melon,bugs,...) .It depends on public reaction. SNSD digital is one of top on Gaon I can see. It is very good. I've looked over the online charts. I know you have reason to worry :). But if we keep a significant distance with Wonder Girls in albums sales and try to use more mobile services to shorten digital point with them, then we still can have chance to win though. At this rate, WGs broadcast point isn't going to be high at all, as well as their vote point cannot compare with SNSD. Fan should buy albums , download The Boys and uses their services as much as possible are all my advices.
KBS always has problem with SM이 , even if we tried to avoid mentioning that. In a special stage with Cnblue, Taeyeon-shi also had problem with her microphone. But because she is SM이 artist, KBS just ignored and they wanted to finish recording soon. I'm so annoyed due to that behavior. And Taeyeon-shi had some criticize on KBS staff. As a result, they continued making a worse sound system in the year-end music show 2010 when SNSD performed. Truly KBS K-chart previously they were a creditable award, but since they changed PD show, they were gradually going down. They somehow want people to consider them as a hot center while they were already involved in some scandals in the past. SM이 just ignored what they did because we had spent much time on negotiating with them. They are hopeless
Some your concerns about the coming US single. We are all ready and in process of completing the preparation. As I said SM이 has plans to expand our business overseas next few years. US Single is the very first step of SNSD and is one of our expanding plans. Next year with debut of new groups can create more chances for SM이 to expand business. But first of all, we all mainly focus on SNSD activities in US market, it is important and we invest much on the plan actually. Annoucement of US album depends on how good this single is going this time. So we can adjust the right time to release. The song was doing well on iTunes chart and it is the good sign that we can do next. SNSD has a long way to go, so no need to hurry or jump on any conclusion so early. We also aim to hold a spectacular showcase for US 1st album and a US tour after that. Actually they are on plan but I have strong confidence it will happend in near future. Furthermore, don't worry much about K-chart or small awards like that, they are not our main target anymore. SNSD is already loved and supported by Koreans, no need to try to prove who they are by those awards, because they have their level and they got all those of them already. The love and support from everybody give them a precious award than ever.
Today many updates because I could not be online for a long time. My work is flooding me hardly, I feel so tired. So I can understand how exhausted the artists could feel. They are working as many times more than me. The only thing that can give us the energy to work is that our achievements are gonna be accepted by everyone . I remember one time You said that Super Junior fans are complaining how unfair SM이 treats their idols. I don't know how to say because my words will make those fans hurt more. Truly personally, in my opinion if Super Juniors members came to another company other than SM이, they would have become an unknown idols. Idols like Super Junior are everywhere in Korea now, the difference is SJ's comapny is SM이 . If they choose us, they all accept the way they receive and love to do their work. I hope the fans please stop comparing between SNSD and Super Junior, if they continue to do that, they will always make hurt by themselves because of the unfairness feeling and SNSD will be appropriated no matter how. Stop comparing and we are happy. The comparision is limping seriously. "
